Now, I know you’ve been eager to travel and visit foreign countries but there are some things you have to tick for you to be confident enough to travel.
– Make sure your passport and visa are up to date, check for the expiration of your passport and check the duration and date of the visa granted.
– Make sure you check your health, do a medical check before travelling. Collect your vaccines, check your prescription pills as it might not be available in the country you’re visiting and get any necessary medication.
– Check for travel and health warnings. There might be an health risk in the country you’re visiting and you won’t know until you look it up. Same with weather checks.
– Make sure you travel with enough cash or acceptable payment method like your debit or credit card. MasterCard and Visa card are acceptable to use in other countries
– Pack the appropriate needs. Like your phone charger, earphones, MiFi, prescription glasses etc… Do away with expensive jewelries as that can call unnecessary attention and attract thieves.
– Research about the history, culture and customs of the country you’re visiting so you can enjoy and not stress as a foreigner. You can try to learn simple phrases in the official language of the country you’re visiting.
– Make reservations, hotel reservations, It’s always a good idea to plan ahead, especially if you’re traveling during peak season. Reserve accommodations, major attractions, popular restaurants, and anything else that you really want to experience.
– Know how to access local currencies, It’s a good idea to have some local currency in addition to credit cards. You can order some from your bank a few weeks in advance or exchange money at the airport.
